The Good Will Foundation is proud to have sponsored an educational workshop called \u201eLitvak painters. The Jewish School of Paris\u201c, which took place on 10-14 August in a picturesque location near Moletai. During the workshop, both professional and aspiring painters worked together to produce a number of works in the style of the so called Jewish School or Paris. From 1905 to 1939, Paris attracted artists from all over the globe as the capital of the art world. This period of artistic proliferation became known as the School of Paris, and includes a great diversity of artistic expression, while a significant group of Jewish artists who working together during this period came to be known as the Jewish School of Paris. This group included Man\u00e9-Katz, Soutine, Marc Chagall, Moise Kisling, and Jules Pascin.<\/p>\n

Around 40 professional and amateur artists took part in the workshop and produced more than a hundred paintings which were subsequently put up on display in the Lithuanian Jewish Community and were presented to the general public during an opening of the exhibition on 20 August. A number of renowned Lithuanian & Israeli painters, artists, academicians & jazz musicians along with the authors of the pieces displayed were present at the opening \u2013 evidence that the workshop had been very successful in celebrating Litvak cultural heritage and generating renewed interest in it.<\/p>\n
