We are pleased to share with you the op-ed by Deborah Lauter, executive director of TOLI, that was published in “Education Week” on January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day. It notes that when taught effectively, Holocaust education inspires students to be more open-minded and to challenge prejudice and support democratic values.

TOLI, The Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights based in New York, has been in the forefront of professional development programs for teachers in Holocaust education and human rights. This year the organization will conduct 26 seminars in the US and Europe. We encourage middle, high school, and college educators to apply for these seminars, and welcome support in the communities where they take place.
