In the middle of December, H.E. Ambassador Kara McDonald hosted a reception at the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius, where the project of the Lithuanian Jewish Community Center was officially presented.

This project, which will commemorate the legacy of Jews who lived in Lithuania for centuries, is being developed by the team of world-renowned architect and Litvak, Massimiliano Fuksas. The modern complex will not only blend organically into the historic fabric of Vilnius Old Town, but will also become one of its architectural highlights. The Lithuanian Jewish Community Center will be built on the site of the former Great Synagogue of Vilna and is expected to become a major attraction for Jews, cultural figures, and gourmets from around the world.

During the presentation, the Co-Chairs of the Good Will Foundation – Rabbi Andrew Baker and attorney Faina Kukliansky – unveiled plans to establish a YIVO exhibition within the multifunctional center. The exhibition will vividly tell the story of Litvaks, their history, daily life, traditions, people, and enduring heritage.
