Synagogue Square Memorial in Jurbarkas will be opened to public on 19.07.2019. The monument – Synagogue Square Memorial will commemorate over 500 years of Jewish Community of this town, it’s history, it’s language – Yiddish, the Wooden Synagogue – one of the most distinguished wooden synagogues in Europe, and names of the Righteous Among the Nations in Jurbarkas district.
Memorial is being created by the world famous sculptor David Zundelovitch, Litvak who is residing in Israel and whose parents and forefathers lived in Jurbarkas.
The project is implemented by the association “We create for Jurbarkas” together with the partner from Israel – „CAN“ New Artist Collegium.
