Screening of the film Leaving Memel – Refugees from the Reich by Fred Finkelstein in Vilnius on July 28

Fred Finkelstein is a documentary filmmaker form Oakland, California (USA), and in 2018 he created an important film about his family and their early lives in Lithuania and abrupt departure to America in 1939. Leaving Memel – Refugees from the Reich is a 41 min. history of the Golden/Fleischmann families, beginning with filmmaker’s great-grandfather, Moses Golden.

Fred Finkelstein is planning to visit Lithuania at the end of July this year for a screening of his film, Leaving Memel – Refugees from the Reich, at the Jewish Public Library in Vilnius, 24 Gedimino Avenue, on July 28.

Later on, the film will be presented at a library in Jonava, at the Jewish Community in Kaunas, and in Memel/Klaipeda with a live presentation in early August.
