Saul Kagan welfare center was opened at the Lithuanian Jewish Community

The opening ceremony of SAUL KAGAN welfare center took place at the Lithuanian Jewish Community on May 24 during the week of the 5th World Litvak Congress in Vilnius. All the clients and employees of the center were greeted, the director Michail Segal and Shmuel Levin, the first director of the center, were honored. A memorial plaque commemorating SAULU KAGAN was unveiled by a lawyer Faina Kukliansky, Chair of the Lithuanian Jewish (Litvak) Community, Arie Bucheister (The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany), Julia Kagan Baumann, daughter of Saul Kagan, Yossef Levy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Lithuania. Also, the Jewish song and dance ensemble “Fajerlech” performed at the event (leader L. Vyšniauskienė).
