On the occasion of State Day on July 6 in the special ceremony, YIVO Executive Director and CEO Jonathan Brent was honored to receive the Cross of the Knight of the Order for Merits to Lithuania from H.E. Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania. This award was in recognition of his work in promoting cooperation between Lithuania and YIVO and for the preservation of the prewar Jewish archives of Lithuania through the Edward Blank YIVO Vilna Collections project.
